A member of our family has additional needs, can they use the 5 year old and under play area even though they are older?

Please do ask!  We have a number of guests who have children with additional needs and we are happy for them to use the play area to relax in.  The soft play structure is designed for younger children, hence the age restriction.

Do you provide a welcome pack?

We supply an initial supply of tea bags, coffee and sugar and a pint of milk.  There is also salt, pepper and oil in the kitchen as well as food wrap.  Washing up liquid, dishcloth and brush, tea towels and a small supply of dishwasher and washing machine Eco Egg are also in the cottage.

We slept so well, where did you get the mattress from?

Our mattresses are uk, hand made 1200 pocket sprung.  We buy all our mattresses and bases from a large hotel bed manufacturer, Mattison Contract Beds, As well as being comfy they also have a superior “crib 5” fire rating, which is a higher standard than domestic mattresses.  The range we use is Excelsior Deluxe, for more information on the exact range we use click here. You can indeed purchase them direct from the company yourselves, should you wish.

Is there an enclosed field to let my dog off the lead in?

Dogs are welcome on leads around the cottages and animals.  Dogs are welcome off the lead once down the farm track, away from the cottages and play area.  We have lots of walks around the farm.  Some of the fields may be empty of farm animals during your visit and we can let you know which would be suitable to let your dog off the lead in, on arrival.

Is there a pub in walking distance?

The nearest pubs are in Kingswear, about 2 miles away.  They can, and are, walked to, but it will be an uphill walk on the way back. Alternatively you could drive, which will take no more than 2 minutes!

Can we arrange a supermarket delivery?

Why not check out our list of local suppliers who can deliver to the cottages?!  We are lucky to have some amazing local businesses who can happily supply wonderfully fresh food.  However supermarket deliveries are also possible.  We ask that the supermarket delivery is made for after you arrive and in the same name as the booking name and the cottage is on the booking form.  This way we can help direct the delivery driver.  The supermarkets that deliver here are Sainsburys, Waitrose, Tesco, ASDA and Morrisons.

Can we help feed the animals?

Absolutely.  We are around at most times and you can visit the animals whenever you like.  You can also feed the chickens, goats and pigs.

Do you allow dogs in all your cottages?

We allow dogs in Hyssop, Lovage and Meadowsweet.  Chamomile & Tarragon are strictly pet free.  We ask dogs are not allowed upstairs.  If you go out for the day please take your dog with you. We do not allow dogs to be left in the cottages on their own, as they will often become anxious in a strange environment.  A throw, dog bowl, towel and poo bags are provided for picking up after your dog.  If you would like to borrow a dog crate please ask as we have a few available if pre arranged.

Can we bring our friends back to the farm?

The Farm facilities are only for guests to enjoy.  However please ask as in quieter months a day visit by a couple of friends may be possible.  There are otherwise plenty of places locally for you to be able to meet up with friends.
